Arrows was my first book project as Art Director at Mimi & Todd Press (MTP). And it was MTP's first book project with an Art Director overseeing the creative process, as well as the first book project with a Publshing Director managing the content. I'm forever grateful to my colleagues and the authors for the collective effort in navigating new expectations and processes. Also… the end product is fantastic!

One of MTP’s parent company's top consultant's sons had worked on two previous book covers. His original artwork on the front covers was a distinctive part of the MTP brand. I was excited to work with him to create a solution in which artwork and typography became one. His artwork combined with my type and layout created an impactful cover that met the author's desire to emulate the minimal look of a Malcolm Gladwell book.
Cohesive cover.
MTP had an established relationship with a book designer. I collaborated with her to bring elements from the cover into the interior, enhancing the overall visual impact.
