“In a well-made book, where designer, compositor, and printer have all done their jobs, no matter how many thousands of lines and pages, the letters are alive. They dance in their seats. Sometimes they rise and dance in the margins and aisles.”
– Robert Bringhurst, poet, typographer, and author
Objective: Build an elite reference manual that is both practical and beautiful.
Jonathan and Craig knew their manuscript was truly like no other reference available for those seeking to become special operators. It combined systems theory, psychology, and methods for practical application with personal stories from the authors and others. They wanted folks to take this book with them both to the gym and the coffee shop, with the ability to jump from section to section easily. There was a ton of written content that needed to feel approachable and inviting.
Objective: Create an adaptable visual system for a prolific author’s ever-evolving content and concepts.
Objective: Design the second edition of a best-selling book.
The first edition of Leading Impact Teams was the foundation for Paul Bloomberg’s consulting company, The Core Collaborative. The book was his “baby.” As in-house Creative Director, my job for the second edition was to marry the style of the first edition with The Core Collaborative’s new brand.
